Basic Troubleshooting:

  • Ensure Bluetooth is turned ON on your mobile device.

  • Make sure the CipCip SmartBox controller is powered on and within range (up to 10 meters).

  • For Android users: Ensure Location services and Nearby Devices permissions are enabled (required by Android system for BLE scanning).

  • For iOS users: Confirm that Bluetooth access was allowed when prompted by the app.

Privacy Policy

CipCip built the CipCip SmartBox app as a companion tool for the CipCip SmartBox hardware controller. This service is provided at no cost and is designed to operate locally with a strict privacy-first architecture.

1. Information Collection and Use

  • Personal Data: We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personally identifiable information (such as your name, email, phone number, physical address, or financial details).

  • Account Creation: The app does not require account creation, registration, or login.

  • Device Telemetry: No device logs, crash reports, or diagnostic telemetry are sent to external servers or third parties.

2. App Permissions & Hardware Access

  • Bluetooth (BLE) Access (iOS & Android): The app uses Bluetooth Low Energy solely to discover, connect to, and exchange configuration parameters with your local CipCip SmartBox controller (heating limits, ventilation cycles, lighting schedules, and coop door pairing).

  • Location Permission (Android): On Android devices, system-level location permissions or “Nearby Devices” permissions are required by Android OS to perform Bluetooth Low Energy scanning. Our app does not access, read, track, or record your actual GPS coordinates or location history.

3. Third-Party Services and Cloud Storage

  • The application communicates strictly offline and locally over Bluetooth.

  • No third-party tracking, advertising networks, or analytics SDKs are embedded in the app.

4. Children’s Privacy Our application does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.

5. Data Retention and Deletion Because the app does not collect or transmit any user data to external servers, we retain zero personal data. All local configuration settings remain strictly on your physical phone and SmartBox hardware and can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the application or resetting the SmartBox.
